Please use any Whois site and try to know who owns it now, send an email and explain about important of your domain,

Try to register the same using a country level domain like .US for American or CO.UK for UK based users. Country level domains are now available in most of the countries.
Option:2
If your domain is your Intellectual Property or a company registered, make a complaint with WIPO which costs USD1500 attorney fees.
